16-19 Programme 2010-11

RACC offer a range of level one and level two daytime programmes on either a full-time basis (2–3 days per week) or part-time basis (3 or more hours per week ) starting in September 2010 and January 2011.


Courses which lead to a qualification are FREE for all learners aged 16-18 on 31 August 2010.  These courses are divided into three types:

GCSEs

You can take up to five GCSEs from a programme including Maths, English, Science, ICT, Sociology, Psychology and Business Studies.  The number of GCSEs we suggest you take each year depends on your current level of literacy and numeracy, previous qualifications, your areas of interest and your other commitments.

 

EDEXCEL BTEC FIRST DIPLOMA

Equivalent to 4 x GCSEs A*-C.  This programme is available in a range of vocational areas including Art & Design, IT and Computing, Business and Health and Social Care.  Assessment is by coursework/portfolio of evidence.

 

VOCATIONAL PROGRAMMES AT LEVEL 1 OR 2

If you want to develop practical skills and knowledge to improve your employability whilst maintaining or improving your literacy and numeracy, you can also take a 12-15 hours per week course in one of the following areas:

  • Business and IT Level 2 (PK)
  • Office Skills Level 1 and Level 2 (PK)
  • Health and Social Care Level 1 (PK)
  • Media Level 1 and Level 2 (PK)
