Ideas That Transformed Our World

When: Thursday 23rd February, 7pm

Where: Studio Theatre, Parkshot, Richmond

Details: In this lecture Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive of the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce), will ask whether the ideas that transformed our world in the last two centuries can be sufficient to find solutions to the challenges we now face.  Matthew will argue - as he did in his RSA pamphlet 21st century enlightenment - that we need new ways of thinking, and a return to core principals of autonomy, universalism and humanism.

This challenging talk will be followed by an opportunity to debate the issues in more detail, and explore what this approach means in practice.  There will also be further discussion over drinks, which will also provide a chance to meet local RSA Fellows.
